  • Both are unpatented and license-free, and is available free for all uses.

5. In your own words, what are the differences between TwoFish and Blowfish? *
  • TwoFish accepts until 256 bits, on the other hand, Blowfish accepts variables from 32 bits to 448 bits.

6. In your own words, what is the Advanced Encryption Standard or AES? *
  • It is an encryption standard used by the US.

7. In your own words, what is Rijndael? *
  • Rijndael (pronounced rain-dahl) is the algorithm that has been selected by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as the candidate for the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). It was selected from a list of five finalists, that were themselves selected from an original list of more than 15 submissions.

8. Why do you think Rijndael was chosen as the AES? *
  • Because Rijndael algorithm is a new generation symmetric block cipher that supports key sizes of 128, 192 and 256 bits, with data handled in 128-bit blocks.

9. Who is Phil ZImmerman? Why is he noteworthy? *
  • Philip R. Zimmermann is the creator of Pretty Good Privacy, an email encryption software package. Originally designed as a human rights tool, PGP was published for free on the Internet in 1991.
