(Additional Questions)
1. If you were asked to program this example, would you do it? why?
If that is my job, then yes, I will program the said website for the sake of being professional in my chosen field. Of course, there will be questions that I may want to raise just for the sake of being clear of what this program is capable of doing but if they still insist that I make it, even with my objections in terms of the morality issues being affected by this program, then I will do it. Especially if my hands are tied in pursuing this project, I don't think I have the means to speak up about it knowing that different people have different opinions and insisting my beliefs may cause my job to jump off a cliff. My conscience will drown in dirt but I if an open conversation about this program already happened, then I wouldn't have a say in the development stage as much as I want.
2. Is it right to program this example? Why?
What I said before may aid in the explanation to the right answer to this number aligning it with my moral beliefs because I think it is unethical to even think of developing such project considering the obvious intention of manipulating online users. I know, I haven't tried the website yet but I did witness how fast a Nintendo Wii go from $0.00 to $77.00 in just a matter of minutes and the speed of the bids of online users without even them being fully conscious about it means that Swoopo.com is undoubtedly entertaining and highly addictive. I wouldn't want to be a part of the development of such program if I had the choice because being Christian and being asked to program this will definitely just be a confusing day for me.
